GINSENG WOODTHRUSH [t-shirt]

$10.00 - Sold out

On my GINSENG SEASON podcast episode with Shady Grove Botanicals, we talked about the work of retired WVU Eberly professor of biology, Jim McGraw, who not only observed that deer browse hard on wild ginseng but that the humble, wonderfully choral, uniquely trilling wood thrush is a disperser of this near mythic root. The thrush eats whole the red ginseng berries that appear in late summer to early fall, flies off & soon regurgitates the viable seeds in a new location, thus spreading the “sang.”
